Braggin' Aunt Lisa

I couldn't help but put a blurb here about my 13 yr old nephew, Austin Jay. The kid is brilliant. :) My sister got a call from the school this week about him. The last time she got a call, he had stress fractured his ankle in basketball practice so she was like, "What now?!"
He's such a great student that she & Mark never know what he's doing in school until they see the report card. (Straight A's in honors courses in middle school) Much to her surprise, the school had him on the phone asking her if she wanted him to bring home his 1st prize saving's bond of $100 or should she pick it up? He wrote an essay on what it means to be patriotic to him. I cannot wait to read it. My sister & Mark have not even read it yet!!! They never have to proofread anything for him. They had no idea he had entered it into a contest. I have to wonder if he mentions his dad going overseas. I know it was really hard on the boys when Mark would deploy. Austin knows what it's like not to have dad around on his birthday or home on a major holiday.
Anyway, I told my sister, jokingly, that he gets it from me. I was always told in school that I could write well. We both laughed but hey, it's true. :P

Man, I miss my boys!
