"Idol" results show tonight is making me remember something goofy I was a part of in 8th grade (the year Lennon was shot outside the Dakota). My friends & I were so struck by the sheer sadness that we held a sayance. (hey, at least we weren't drinking or doing drugs!) When my friend, Marcy's, fireplace sparked during the "experiment" we all jumped out of our skins & screamed. In the media, it was as if Elvis had died again. I was so young when Elvis died that I didn't fully understand what he meant to people so the Lennon thing was new to me. I had been a closet fan of the "Beatles" for years. When mom got out her Dionne Warwick & Tom Jones, I told her they were boring. I asked her why she didn't have any "Beatles" stuff! EVERYTHING Lennon & McCartney wrote speaks to me in some way. (Yesterday, Let It Be, Hard Day's Night, Eleanor Rigby, I want to Hold Your Hand, etc...) When I stand in front of the Dakota, I know I will get chills on a hot summer day this June. :)
I agree with David Hernandez getting the boot tonight but Kristi Lee Cook should have gone with him. "Dolly Parton on helium" was a good description of her song this week.
I contemplated some speed tonight but decided to do over an hour on the elliptical, some yoga ball crunches, and a few weights. Tomorrow, speed at the track or something resembling speed, I hope...
