New & exciting experiences...well sorta...

I'm not a dare devil, but to a certain extent, I will try anything once as long as it's not scary. I've been forced to do things in the past that were scary but sometimes that's just life.
I'm all about the new & different as long as it's not illegal & doesn't hurt anyone else.

For instance the awe inspiring include standing on top of the Eagles Nest in the German Alps near Bertchtesgaden. Walking through an underground bunker. Eating black forrest cake in the Black Forest. I've held a piece of the Berlin Wall in my hands thinking of how many lives were lost trying to climb it. Climbing Diamond Head with my sister who was 6 months pregnant at the time was interesting. Ha! And, more recently, seeing the Statue of Liberty for the first time with a very dear friend & running around the streets of NYC aimlessly was such a treat.

The more emotional things would include seeing the gifts from God, known as my nephews for the first time, seeing my grandma for the last time, seeing my ex husband get on a plane heading to the Gulf War, & surviving a bomb threat along with my PreSchool class several weeks later when the war started. Crossing the finish line of my first marathon or the first race I ever completed for that matter, seeing others do the same for the first time, & knowing that someone who worked REALLY hard met a goal have been inspiring. The list could go on and on...

The goofier things would include being lost in Savage Gulf for HOURS thinking I was going to have to spend the night & be eaten by animals, fighting a crowd of grown men for Peyton Manning's autograph, asking Chris Simms when the Titans players will be out on the ramp not knowing who he was (after a Tampa game at home), & making new, exciting friends via the internet.

Recently, it's been all about new & exciting things concerning my looks & health...Got my first facial, first glycolic peel, cut out most if not all red meat (not a big meat eater anyway), cut WAY down on caffeine, & totally cut out my diet cokes. I've been going to a chiropractor for years & getting massages. I highly recommend that to everyone. I've learned to LOVE Pilates because my body just doesn't snap back together like it did even 5 short years ago. Ok, you may want to stop reading at this point.......I'm going to talk about the Colon cleanse now! ha!

Well, I was nervous as you can imagine. It was a very simple 30 min procedure. The kicker here is that I've had a long week at work, sorta stressed a bit, didn't drink enough water over the last few days, & quite frankly the pizza that I had this week along with the Mexican cheese last weekend reeked havoc on my system. Of all weeks for me to not pay that much attention to what I put in my mouth. I mean really, I eat pizza maybe once every 6 months. Mozzarilla is the WORST cheese for our digestive system. So, due to my poor diet & lack of water this week, this was not the most pleasant experience. Do I feel ok? Sure I do, but that was the longest 30 mins I've spent in a while. It's amazing at how our bodies work, seriously. The crap we eat doesn't always go to places where it should go & therefore, we are storing toxins in our colon that can & will affect our health. Am I glad I went? Sure, but it was a bit weird watching crap go into the tube that had been attached to my colon. Don't get me wrong, when I run a lot, I have absolutely no problems with my system. Like most runners, what I put in solid has no problem coming out. Will I go back? Probably but I'm in no rush that's for sure. I lost only 1 lb due to the fact that my body soaked in some water since I was slightly dehydrated. It was certainly yet another experience I'll never forget as you can imagine. :)

What's next? Not really sure. The running has been put on hold for a solid week now. I'm going to test my legs outside after Pilates today & I see a pomegranite martini in my near future tonight. ha! I'm checking into what I can do to help with the clean up. Check out Hands on Nashville or News Channel 5.

Wishing much luck to David & Michele in Birmingham tomorrow!
