Trail shoes
I had no idea they had wheel chair hunting?!
As I ran my 4 slow miles on base in my new trail shoes, I thought about the carrot cake I ate with the cream cheese icing. Yummy, yet evil! Then I thought about the TWO cadbury eggs I had last week & the one day that I ate a twix candy bar. I have had a BAD habit week! So, I knew I had to hit the gym after I ran for sure. I didn't really run trails, I ran a broken up, gravelly, dirt military road. I hate running in my regular running shoes out there because I just feel that it tears them up faster. I saw these brooks trail shoes at a Zappos store in Bowling Green on New Years day. They felt good! My pace for 4 miles was only 9:36 but that included a brief stop to tie one of my shoes (dang short Brooks laces!)& to take off my short sleeved tech shirt. Once I got out of the wind in between the trees, I got hot. Of all things to see out there at about mile 2 of my run, I saw a portapottie & a portasink right next to each other. There was some huge earth moving equipment out there so I guess that's why it was out there. If I had ran with my phone, I'd have a pic of it to post. ha!
I did 35 mins on the elliptical & 35 mins on the bike slowly while watching the World Figure skating men's event in Sweden. For some reason these up & coming guys just don't have it like Elivis Stojko & Victor Pentrenko did. (and you guys thought I only watched Football! ha!) I'll never forget dragging my ex husband to a "Stars on Ice" event in Nashville where I "ooohhed & ahhhed" & he drank beer. Elvis Stojko was like lightening on ice. He would do back flips like a maniac.
I finished off my work out with some light leg weights, the AB machine, & some pilates moves to stretch out the stiffness. It was pretty busy in there for an Easter Sunday afternoon. Tomorrow it will be EXTREMELY busy, I'm sure...
Tomorrow, I will try my best to hit the hill repeats like last Monday, only slightly faster, I HOPE!
