Firecracker Volunteering & Fireworks @ LP Field

LP Field Riverfront Fireworks, downtown Nashville were awesome.
I'm going to interrupt my all important NYC Vacation posting for my 4th of July post. ha! I LOVE the 4th of JULY! Patti & I agree it's our favorite holiday. You don't have to bring gifts, most of the week you're in a bathing suit, obviously it's not cold, & way less stressful cooking going on...GRILLING. This year she & I both broke tradition. For the 1st time in 8 yrs, I was not on a boat in Tim's Ford lake shaking martini's with Coach Lester & company. I did talk to him from LP Field, though, & Patti sent me a text from the "U.P." (MI) telling me she loves me. It's time for change this year. :)

I spent the 3rd with my Aunt Becky & Joe. They both had their b-days & anniversary in the last month. I took them out to eat with grandson Liam. I had never been to "Jim & Nicks". Good ole home cooking, let me tell ya.
July 4th, I got up at 4:30am & headed to the Firecracker 5k to volunteer. I handed out chips & cut them off with pretty much the same rowdy people I worked with in Bell Buckle. The older gentleman that cracked me up in Bell Buckle asked me if he'd ever seen me in the Bell Buckle jail. ha! I stood next to Marti, who I had never met before & had a very nice conversation. She traded smoking for running & is very competitive. I learned that some of the ladies picked it up to help get over their divorces last year. After explaining to about 10 people why I couldn't run, I changed the subject to NY, afterall I was wearing my blue, glittery M & M New York shirt, ya know.... ha! Saw David at the finish....much like I did at MP. Met his daughter, Amy, too. :)
Pic of the winner, didn't get his name but recognized his face. I assume the results are up by now.
We had tons of kids it seemed that did the kid's run. There were just as many 3 & 4 yr olds running as there were 10 yr olds. Each & every child got a ribbon.
The Nashville Riverfront fireworks were awesome at LP Field. It was like a carnival down there. I got a pina colada w/o rum, of course. A former American Idol star was there, Diana Degarmo? I vaguely remember her. She was taking photos with the Nashville Broncos. Do we suddenly have a basketball team?
Skylar & Hannah were the "glitter girls".
Hannah & her wonderful man...what's his name? :P
Skylar & her daddy.
I accidentally bought my Lady Liberty shirt a bit too big but I do love it.
Heading to the gym for a good workout FINALLY & for the Marine Corp 5 miler race report from Carla. Then tonight, I have a date. "Hello Mr. Urban, Hello Mr. Chesney"
